ABOUT

A one-person consultancy, on purpose.

I'm Fabio. Clarke Industrial Intelligence is me. There's no team behind a curtain, no agency layer, no junior dev getting paid to write Slack messages. You deal with me directly, from the first call to the final invoice and every change after that.

01 / WHY THIS EXISTS

Why this business exists.

Most trade businesses I have looked at have the same shape of problem. They pay for a trade-business SaaS (ServiceM8, Tradify, AroFlo, simPRO, Fergus) and it does most of what they need. The bit it does not do, they patch with a wall of spreadsheets, Word templates, paper forms, and group chats.

That gap is the most expensive part of running the business. Not in dollars on the subscription. In hours per week, in mistakes that show up as missed compliance, in customers who do not get an update because the system did not prompt anyone to send one. Multiply that across three to fifteen people on the tools and it is the single biggest lever owners can pull that nobody is pulling.

Clarke Industrial Intelligence exists to pull that lever. One person, one custom build, one trade business at a time. Software shaped around how a business actually runs instead of how a SaaS company decided to design it.

02 / WHO I AM

Who I am.

Fabio Liesching. Based in Australia. I build custom software for businesses that need a tool, not a SaaS subscription. Web apps, desktop apps, automations, AI features where they earn their keep.

The first project under the Clarke Industrial Intelligence banner was a rebuild of an industrial calibration application for a Mantracourt B24 distributor. Different industry from trades, same shape of problem: repetitive, buggy software a team had to use every day, rebuilt around the parts that actually mattered.

Trade businesses are now the focus because the shape of the problem is identical and the leverage is enormous. A four-minute quote instead of forty minutes. A compliance cert that auto-fills instead of a Word template that gets re-typed for the hundredth time. The kind of build that turns one afternoon a week back into work hours.

03 / HOW I WORK

How I work.

The principles, made explicit. Not aspirational. These are non-negotiable for me, so you can decide up front if we will work well together.

Transparent scope, no surprises.

You see the price and the scope before you commit. If reality shifts during the build, we pause, I show you what changed, and we re-scope together. No silent overruns, no "we hit some complexity" emails after the fact.

You own the code.

On full payment, you own the custom code I write for you. Perpetual licence to use, modify and distribute. You can take it to another developer, fork it, or shelve it. It is your business asset, not my leverage.

AI when it earns its keep.

AI is a tool, not a marketing checkbox. I use it where it removes friction (drafting customer emails, reading supplier invoices, summarising site notes) and I avoid it where it adds risk. API costs are passed through at cost. You see the bill.

Direct contact.

If you text me on a Tuesday afternoon, you get me. Not a ticket, not an account manager, not a Slack channel that someone checks tomorrow. The trade-off is I work with a small number of clients at any one time, on purpose.

Delete first, build second.

Most software is bloated because someone kept adding features. My first move on every build is deletion. What is the minimum thing this needs to do, done well, that solves the problem? That is what I build.

Honest about what I have done.

The B24 calibration rebuild is real. The concept demos on this site are clearly labelled as concepts, not delivered work. I will tell you on the call which problems I have solved before and which ones we will be solving together for the first time.

04 / STRAIGHT TALK

What I am not.

I am not an agency. There is no team behind me, no offshore subcontract, no senior person who shows up for the sales call and then hands you to a junior. The work I show on this site is work I did personally.

I am not the cheapest. If your decision is going to be made on hourly rate against an offshore freelancer, we are probably not the right fit. The pitch here is a transparent fixed-price project, a build that does the job, and someone who will still be answering the phone in six months.

I am not building a generic SaaS for trade businesses. Every build is custom to one business. If you want a product you log into alongside ten thousand other tradies, ServiceM8 or Tradify are excellent and you should keep using them. I build the layer you do not get from a SaaS.

05 / START

If that sounds like your kind of fit.

30 minutes. No agenda doc. Tell me what your business does and what is eating the week. If there is something to build, you will know by the end of the call.
